There is no argument with the MWRDGC’s self-described mission to ‘protect the health and safety of the public in its service area, protect the quality of the water supply source (Lake Michigan), improve the quality of water in watercourses in its service area, protect businesses and homes from flood damages (e.g. storm water management), and manage water as a vital resource for its service area’.

 

The problem is the MWRD Board of Commissioners is multiplied by mostly unqualified ‘machine’ Democrats for the last fifty (50) years without a check and balance system. The agency needs to better manage how it spends tax payer money to make its mission ‘cost-effective’ and  not subject to costly ‘connected’ contracts.

 

If elected, my priority is to debate the poor spending habits of the Democrats to make the agency more accountable and strongly represent the financial considerations of its taxpayers without hindering its mission of strong water management
